The video was done in May 2024, the peak Summer here, when most of our plots were barren. It was also the time when a few Agriculture experts from Australia visited us while doing a joint training program with Ironwood Institute.
Highlight of the Day (May 22nd, 2024)Their interaction with our first batch participants was inspiring! The discussions ranged from the practicalities of organic farming to improving business for small farmers. Participants were eager to learn about the challenges faced by small farmers in Australia, discovering that despite larger land holdings, their income supports only the farmer due to the lack of government support.
Our guests were impressed by the participants’ enthusiasm and belief that sustainable practices are the future. They emphasized the importance of supporting small and marginal farmers to make sustainability profitable.
This visit marks a positive beginning, showcasing the need for new skills and opportunities in agriculture, benefiting both countries. Together, we are setting a benchmark for skilling and industry collaboration.
