Krishna Sudha Academy for Agroecology is a transdisciplinary research and education centre working on agroecology as an alternative paradigm for food, farming and livelihoods in a growing ecological, economic, and social crisis.
The Academy is a unit of Sree Padmavathi Venkateswara Foundation.
The academy’s focus is to compile and curate existing knowledge on organic/natural farming and develop new knowledge in social, agroecological, hydrological and environmental processes, climate resilience, public policy and community organisations. Contemporary innovations and community-generated knowledge form an essential base on which the academy will build the new paradigm of agroecology.
The Krishna Sudha Academy for Agroecology is a campus located on a 38-acre organic farm, on the road from Nuzividu to Vissannapeta. The distance from Vijayawada International Airport, Gannavaram, is 65 km, making it an hour and a half drive, and it’s also 25 km away from the national highway connecting Vijayawada and Kolkata.
The farm is already flourishing with different agricultural models like the Bio Diversity Block (BDB) on 3.2 acres of land with a variety of crops like paddy, vegetables, pulses, etc.; mulching on the vegetable beds with old sarees and grass; small mechanisation for women farmers; intercrop models; Navadhanya model; multi-layer crops; rainwater harvesting through farm ponds, etc.
The campus comes with facilities for research, training and education.

Establish a state-of-the-art education centre and research facility on agroecology and build human resources for transforming the Indian agriculture and food systems to be economically viable, ecologically sustainable, climate resilient and provide improved food and nutrition security.
