Fun Fact

Pigs snuggle close to one another and prefer to sleep nose to nose. They dream, much as humans do. In their natural surroundings, pigs spend hours playing, sunbathing, and exploring. People who run animal sanctuaries for farmed animals often report that pigs, like humans, enjoy listening to music, playing with soccer balls, and getting massages.

On the other hand, we denounce with righteous indignation and dislike men who are so beguiled and demoralized by the charms of pleasure of the moment, so blinded by desire, that they cannot foresee the pain and trouble that are bound to ensue; and equal blame belongs to those who fail in their duty through weakness of will, which is the same as saying through shrinking from toil and pain. Weekly Interview: Hershel the farmer
Peter: Hershel tell us about how you started to grow organic food?
Hershel: Well, first of all I’ve never been the farmer type. My father had a farm and he wanted me to work hard like him so one day he can leave the farm to me.
Peter: Did you enjoy it at first?
Hershel: Of course not! I was a young boy who just wanted to play with his friends and talk to girls…I was very shy so there wasn’t actually any girl talking (laughing)!
Peter: How did you start working with Organic Food LTD?
Hershel: I was approached by one of your colleagues at the Australian competition “Young Farmer”. We spoaked and he showed me that here are a lot of possibilites before us, that the market is not crowded at all and that we can open people’s eyes for the organic food.
Peter: What kind of food you are producing for our customers?
Hershel: At the beggining I started with potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers and very small amount of grapes. Now we operate on over 1500 acres and we produce over 200 different vegetables. Also we have another 200 acres only with fruits, forest fruits mainly – strawberries, blueberries and blackberries.
Peter: Did you breed any animals?
Hershel: Yes, we have pigs, cows – from which we get the best organic milk, we have also chickens.
