Context
The Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) is a scheme launched by the Government of India in 2020 to provide financial assistance to farmers and FPOs for the development of agriculture infrastructure. The AIF has a corpus of Rs. 1 lakh crore and is being implemented by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD).
The AIF and other schemes for FPOs are a major step by the Government of India to support the growth of the agriculture sector and to improve the income of farmers.
The discussion was led by Shri M Bhujanga Rao, a Team Leader in the Project Monitoring Unit [Agri Infra Fund (AIF)], NABARD, NABCONS, Telangana State.
